International Teacher Education Development Project TAME Kicks Off

On May 22–23, 2025, Tallinn University hosted the kick-off meeting of the Teacher Academy for Maker Education (TAME) project, bringing together nine partner organizations from five European countries.

Funded by the Erasmus+ programme, TAME is an ambitious collaboration project aimed at integrating Maker education—a creative, hands-on approach—into teacher education.

During the two-day meeting, project objectives and work packages were presented, followed by in-depth discussions on international cooperation, upcoming mobility opportunities, and practical development work. The focus was on creating a competence framework and training modules for both pre-service and in-service teachers. The partners also laid the groundwork for the project’s data management plan and communication strategy.

The meeting took place at Tallinn University’s MARE building, including sessions in the Eduspace educational innovation lab, where participants had the opportunity to explore the university’s modern learning and development environments. The agenda also featured interactive workshops, a campus tour, and a networking dinner in the Rotermann Quarter.

The long-term goal of the TAME project is to establish a sustainable Teacher Academy network that will continue to support teachers’ professional growth well into the future!
