The real value of international projects isn’t just in the outputs—it’s in the conversations that make them possible.

On 8–9 June 2026, the partners of the Teacher Academy Maker Education (TAME) project gathered at the University of Minho in Braga, Portugal, for the project’s second interim consortium meeting.
During the one-and-a-half-day meeting, partners reviewed the progress of the project and worked together on the next stages of developing high-quality maker education resources and teacher training.
A major focus of the meeting was Work Package 2, where partners discussed the Maker Education Competence Framework, the Maker Spaces Guidebook, and the development of the project’s training modules. The consortium also agreed on several important decisions regarding the structure of the guidebook, module design, and plans for gathering feedback from the project’s External Advisory Board.
The meeting also covered the implementation of joint training activities for both pre-service and in-service teachers. Partners agreed on key milestones for the upcoming Moodle-based courses, webinar schedule, learning materials, and participant recruitment. Discussions additionally addressed evaluation methods, ethics procedures, and preparations for the pilot implementation of the training courses.
On the second day, the consortium focused on project management and reporting, including preparations for the first technical report and the regular monitoring of work package progress.
Besides productive working sessions, participants had the opportunity to strengthen collaboration through networking activities, including visits to the UNESCO World Heritage Site Bom Jesus and Sameiro Sanctuary, followed by a social dinner in Braga’s historic city centre.
The meeting received highly positive feedback from participants, who particularly appreciated the quality of discussions, face-to-face collaboration, and the excellent organisation provided by the University of Minho.
The consortium returned home with a clear roadmap for the coming months and looks forward to the next phase of implementing TAME’s innovative teacher education activities.
A sincere thank you to our hosts at the University of Minho, especially Laurinda Leite and the local organising team, for their warm hospitality and excellent organisation.
